Growing up health and fitness were never part of my life. I was never a very active person and I struggled with my weight even as a child. Things only got worse as I got older. My first year of college I gained over 75 pounds topping out at 240 pounds.
I can still remember the day that changed my life... I had gotten so big I no longer fit into my pants. When I went to buy new ones and realized I had gone up 4 sizes. I was shocked! That day I decided it had to stop.
Within 90 days I had dropped over 100 pounds and gone to other extreme. I spent the next 5 years afraid and disgusted by food and obsessed with exercise. Eventually I found a balance and have been lucky enough to maintain that balance for over 15 years.
I still have fat pants, and yes I sometimes still have to wear them. Like most people I still struggle with my weight everyday. It's not always easy, but nothing worth doing ever is.
My mission is to help people find their balance and change their lives for the better. My goal is to empower others to make better choices through education, direction and encouragement. I believe that safe, effective exercise, and quality whole-food nutrition can help us all look and feel our best.
My training is based on functional strength and endurance. This type of training is very efficient, yielding maximum results in a minimum amount of time. I feel that constantly changing and evolving exercise programs ensure continual progress and alleviate boredom.
